Accomodations
Club Med

Dining HighlightsThe main restaurant had an extensive buffet selection of fresh fish, fruits, children-friendly stations, and a huge desert selection. The bread was freshly baked and fabulous. The specialty restaurants were a nice atmosphere and had waitstaff |
ShoppingNo real shopping excursions taken, but they offer them. There was a local artists fair with Mexican jewelry, clothing, etc one night at the pool. In addition, the boutique had nice clothing, but was $$. |
EntertainmentThe nightly entertainment was amazing and even included the children a couple nights. I enjoyed the water sports at pool, the trapeze, archery, fitness classes (zumba especially), and late night movies at the pool. I was never bored, nor my kids. |
Local TransportationThe transport option that Club Med provides is a nice a/c bus. I highly recommend it, unless you want to explore the area on your own. We rented a taxi to go surfing one day and it was $$, but worth it for my husband because surf was incredible! |
BabysittersKid's club is included for free for kids over 4 years old. For babies and toddlers, you have to pay, but it is worth the break. Pyjama party is every night and offers childcare for $20/night. They had babysitting option, shows and special events too. |
Prices
Price was only $99/night and all inclusive!!! (until 8/31/09) |
Fun For KidsThe best activities were the children's yoga classes, play pool with fun fountains and water machine gun squirters, tie-dying day with parents , and most importantly, including them in the nightly shows. I thought it was cool how the children from all around the world got along and became a little crew together. The staff were caring, patient, and genuinely loved playing with the children. For older kids, the circus trapeze and archery looked fun. Dolphin swim was amazing experiene-do it! |
Fun For Mom & Dad
During the day, we hung out in a private padded cabana on the beach with cold drinks, swung on the hammock and cooled off in the Pacific. |
Nearby ExcursionsSurfing, Delfini Ixtapa (swim with dolphins facility), sunset cruise, snorkeling to nearby island, shopping excursions, ATV offroad ride, and more.. |
Pros & Cons
Pros
I loved the smell of guava and mango trees the iguanas, and the butterflies
Cons
It was a bit humid and hot, but there were pools and the ocean to cool off in. Mosquitos were a nuisance, but they sprayed twice a day. |

Tips for Travel
I would book a nonstop flight on Alaska Airlines..they had great service and the flight was easy-3 hours. Bring a sack lunch or prepare to buy a meal for $6. Hacienda Hotel has a great deal to stay overnight and leave your car at LAX for a week. |
