Summer Bulldogs Football Camps

Kingman High School Football has a new Sheriff in town for
2008 and his name is Jamie Nelson. The 2008 Bulldogs
Football Camps will be highlighted with some NFL personnel
and instruction as well as a new attitude and energy from the
new Head Bulldogs Coach Jamie Nelson and his Bulldogs
Coaching Staff. The 9th -12th grade (High School) camp will
attack all aspects of the game from strength and speed training,
fi lm sessions, fundamentals, and the new bulldogs offensive
and defensive systems. The campers will receive a Power Bar
and Gatorade each day to help support their dietary demands
and a camp T-shirt to show off their commitment to developing
a football machine. The 5th - 8th grade (Junior) camp will
also focus on strength, speed, fi lm, fundamentals and scheme.
However they will have to opportunity to "Line Up" and grind
out some daily competitions and 7-on-7 tournaments. Since
this camp runs into the afternoon, each camper will get a lunch,
in addition to a Power Bar and Gatorade, and a camp T - shirt
to refuel the system for the afternoon session. Be a part of a
new beginning in Bulldog history and show everyone what its
like to have "BULLDOG PRIDE"! For more information contact

CPR/First Aid Classes

The Parks & Recreation department is offering CPR/First Aid
classes this season. Classes will be held at the Kingman Regional
Medical Center, Del Webb Wellness and Rehabilitation Center
- Hualapai Room. Upon successful completion and payments
of all fees, participants will receive a 2-year completion card in
American Heart Association Heart Saver adult and pediatric
CPR and/or a 3-year completion card in American Safety
& Health Institute Basic First Aid Training. Please allow 30
days for cards to be mailed. Material fee covers all materials
& supplies. A lunch break will be given between courses;
a cafeteria is available at the hospital. Anyone interested in
registering to take a class will need to sign up in advance at the
Recreation Department at 3333 N. Harrison St. or call 757-
7919. If taking both CPR & 1st Aid, courses must be taken on
the same date for the $35 fee. Participants are encouraged
to bring a cushion or pillow to class for kneeling. All students
must be able to demonstrate hands on practical's and pass
written exam to receive certifi cation. Please register early due

Earrings, Earrings and More Earrings
Instructor: Vicki Novak
Dangles, Bobbles, and Bangles! Whatever your fashion
statement; you can learn to make them yourself! You can
create a different pair of earrings to match every outfi t in your
wardrobe. Earrings are always in fashion. Be it seasonal, holiday
or just jeans; earrings go with everything! Boost up your style
with earrings. Earrings make wonderful gifts for the graduate,
the wedding thank you gift, birthdays and the friendship gift.
Put your personal touch to your gifts of earrings. Each student
will complete at least 3 pairs of earrings but are only limited
to your imagination! Students will learn various skills and
techniques needed to create many styles and designs for
earrings. Instructor will provide all supplies needed for learning
and practice: the Gizmo, The WigGigs, various jewelry tools,
beads and wire for learning and demonstrations. Materials for
design ideas will also be available. Each student will receive
bead sizing charts. Students will need beads of their choice,
earring fi ndings (hoops or clips), a bead mat, wire (your choice
of silver or gold color) and a minimum of a jewelry wire cutter
and round nose or 3-in-1 jewelry pliers. This is a no stress
class, so come on out and have some fun!

Expressive Jewelry
Instructor: Vicki Novak
Here's your chance to express yourself in this creative jewelry
class. Class is designed for the beginner and intermediate jewelry
designer/creator/crafter. Students will have total freedom of
expression to design and create their own necklaces, earrings,
and bracelets. Class will encompass bead stringing and wire &
bead styles. The choice is yours! You can even express yourself
using both of these methods. Students will learn basic and skilled
techniques to use in their creations. Students will gain handson
experience with designing tools like the Jewelry Hammer,
the WigGig, and the Gizmo and can add their creations using
these tools to their own designs! Come and join in the fun, be
expressive, meet others interested in creating their own jewelry
fashions! A list of materials is available at the Parks & Recreation
Offi ce. Instructor will provide supplies needed for learning and
practice.

Fancied Trinket Boxes
Instructor: Vicki Novak
Trinket boxes are great little pleasurable gifts. They can adorn
your dresser with your special little "ditties". They can spruce up
your bathroom giving you a special place to toss your hairclips.
They are wonderful gift boxes for that special little gift you may
have created. They also make fantastic stationary boxes to store
your letter paper, envelopes, pens and stamps. That makes
another great gift idea too! In this class you will learn how to
design, construct and adorn a trinket box from cardboard. You
will use the paper and glue method to create a lasting, durable
trinket box that will be your neighbors envy. Students will need
to bring in a corrugated cardboard, an Exacto knife, ruler, and
a smock or cover top to protect their clothing. Instructor will
provide paper, glue, water containers, rags, spray paint (gold or
silver), masking tape, templates and a protective spraying box.

Tom and Sharon's Ballroom Dancing

This ballroom dance class is offered by a highly skilled
Professional and Certifi ed Instructor. Tom and Sharon Craddock
have had an outstanding success in their ballroom dance
classes and parties currently held at the Riverside Casino.
With 28 years experience, Tom holds an Associate, Masters
and Grand Masters Degree in International Style Ballroom and
Latin, also American Style Bronze, Silver and Gold. Ballroom
American Rhythm and Smooth dances consist of fox trot, waltz,
tango, samba, rumba, cha cha, salsa and swing. Each session
is a separate sign-up and will use fabulous ballroom music to
cover beginner fundamental patterns teaching you valuable
advanced lead and follow technique. Ballroom dancing will

Oil Painting - Wildlife Animals

This is a 12 hour workshop for the advanced student. This
class does require that you have taken the landscape course or

Beginning Snorkeling
Instructor: Jerry Portwood
Water World Scuba and Parks and Recreation are teaming up
to offer you an underwater experience you are sure to love.
Learn how to Snorkel the professional way and experience all
what you have been missing under the surface. Snorkeling is
the perfect way to enjoy a vacation when you are around the
water, and see all that is absent from the surface. Students
will be entertained to a 2 hour class learning proper breathing
techniques and then get hands on experience in the pool on
how to use your equipment properly. Once completed, students
10 years and older will be able to apply their class credit toward
a future Scuba class of their choosing.

Scuba Dive Certification
Instructor: Jerry Portwood
Planning a trip to Mexico or the Bahamas? If so, learning how
to Scuba Dive before you go will make your entire vacation
experience much more enjoyable. Jerry Portwood of Water
World Scuba will be your instructor for this beginning level
certifi cation course with all the latest teaching materials and
certifi cation techniques. Students must provide their own mask,
fi ns, snorkel and booties (a store discount will be applied if
purchased from Water World Scuba). The instructor will supply
all the tanks, underwater supplies and instruction. Participants
must attend all classroom and water dates to complete the
course, and must be in good physical shape and be able to
swim. A second class will be scheduled for June/July upon
demand.

Future Scuba & Snorkeling Programs

Later this summer Jerry Portwood of Water World Scuba
Center in Kingman will be offering an advanced Snorkeling
and Scuba class to anyone who has previously completed the
beginning and introductory Scuba and Snorkeling programs.
These programs will tentatively meet Monday through Friday
August 4 through 15, with no class on August 5. Interest lists
are forming now. If enough interest, separate classes will be
formed for ladies, kids, and even family groups. In addition to
these activities, Mr. Portwood will offer a Dive Master and Dive
Rescue program for past certifi ed divers. A 3-hour Dive Master
class for $50 and a 4-hour Dive Rescue class for $55 will
be scheduled for sometime in July or August upon demand.

The Wonderful World of Quilting
Instructor: Pat McNally
This class is designed for the beginning quilter or the more
experienced quilter. Each project done in class will teach a
new quilting technique. The fi rst project will be a scrappy quilt
(size your choice) that is easy enough for the beginner to do.
This would be a fun project for mom & daughter or grandma
& granddaughter to do together! All projects are done using a
sewing machine, so a machine in good working order will be
needed. A list of supplies needed for the class will be given out
at the time of registration.

"You're on the Air: How to Really
Make it in Voice-Overs!"

VOICE-OVERS are hot today! With such notable talent as
James Earl Jones, Linda Hunt, and Donald Sutherland lending
their voices to commercials, fi lms, and videos, one would think
that it would be next to impossible to break into this fi eld. Not
so! You'll learn about an exciting new way to get around the
competition and actually turn voice-overs into a thriving full or
part-time business! You'll watch an informative, state of the art
high tech class from the comfort of your own home! All that
you will need is a computer with an internet connection and
the capability to download Quicktime Video. At the end of the
webcast you will be able to call in toll free and have a free voiceover
evaluation from the "Such a Voice" team. Dan Levine, a
well-known commercial producer and Tony Award nominated
Broadway composer, and Heather Costa, a successful voiceover
artist (Playtex, Prentice Hall, etc), will discuss voice-over
techniques and introduce students to the voice-over business as
a whole. Once students have registered and paid fees, student
information will be forwarded to the "Such a Voice" registration
system and students will then receive their "electronic ticket"
with a link that will allow them to join their scheduled webcast
session. You are now part of the on-line class, and will follow
